I am told that I need a good copywriter to look at the front page of my website what is this and why do i need it the site is in fullcarboot.co.uk
I think you need a design to look at the front page of your website and a copywriter to read what you have put on it.
hey there i can think of a few changes that you could make to optimize your site. if you like id be more than happy to give you a more comprehensive critique free of charge. let me know if youre interested.
You may want to first learn how to write, there, CopelandML. Without making this one looooooong-ass post on what is all wrong with your site, Carl, take a look at other sites on this subject, like, say, Amazon. You need to get rid of that scroll bar! The site is too wide. The pictures are too small, too amateurish looking. The pea-green color needs to go. You need to go with colors most people like, Blue, light gray, semi-dark red.... The shade of blues you have on the top are nice. Make sure most of the colors are light, though.
Hi, Here are a few thoughts that jump out at me: You desperately need a more compelling headline: instead of Welcome To Full Car Boot, offer your visitors a curiosity-stirring benefit: "Open Your OWN Profit-Pulling E-Commerce Store – Start Today!" You need to give your visitors some kind of reason to read on, to want to know more. Also, your second paragraph starts with the first –person "I", but otherwise you use "you" – you need to be consistent with this. And you probably need to have the grammar checked – "Just got to buy..." is not how we speak here in USA. I kind of like your header; but the pea-soup-green banner underneath it needs to be relocated towards the bottom of the page. You first need to make your visitors "feel" the need to join – then you can rationalize their decision using your pea-soup checklist. Sounds like you have a rather powerful concept here; I'd seriously consider hiring a pro copywriter to edit your existing text. Having suggested items offered may be somewhat confusing to your visitors; plus, you'll need to continually update your items to keep pace with your clients' sales/new offerings. This could easily become a huge headache very quickly. Maybe use categories to tease? Such as, "Man-Pleasing Outfits: Drive Your Man Insane With One Of These" or "Make Your Home A Reflection Of Your Personality – Bric-a-Brac That Makes a Statement About Who You Are"... Okay, these are a trifle long. But you get the idea, right? Hope this helps, Dot
The above comments are correct especially those of Dot. I checked your keywords, and they show gbp, price, 2010, site, and car. You are giving the search engines a confusing impression you are selling new cars. By the way, all the meta tag keywords you loaded in, Google no longer looks at them. Where is the opt-in box to capture emails of visitors? So you need both a design and wording makeover. For the wording part, you should get someone with at least 5 years experience. Someone right here at the forum can write you a properly worded 400 word description for about $25.00. Or if you have the money get a professional like Dot to do more of a long style true copywriting job.
Thank you, dyadvisor. I appreciate the vote of confidence more than I can ever say. We're both here to help; it sure is nice when folks recognize our efforts, isn't it!
