I recently started a website, 2 mos ago. I went to rank checker to see how many banklinks my site has and it says none. But I thought since I have written quite a few ezine articles with alot of views that it automatically creates backlinks. Am I just not getting it? Also, last week one of my search terms was on page 3, now it doesn't rank at all. Please help this newbie. Thanks.
Two months is not very long, Google does not update backlinks that often. It looks like this calendar isn't being updated anymore but it gives you an indication of how often Backlinks are "exported" or shown. http://www.seocompany.ca/pagerank/page-rank-update-list.html
yes, be patient, I had to wait almost 3 months to see the backlinks I had but after that I was amazed at how fast they poured in
I have had the same trouble with ranking on the search results....one week I'd be on the first page, the next time on the fourth page. The one piece of advice I can give you is to update your site often and keep the backlinks pouring in....this way Googlebot will seach your site often. You will find that as time goes on, your site will not fluxuate as drastically.
The best and most accurate place to see how many Backlinks you have is actually the Yahoo Site Explorer. Just type your web domain in there and click search
