:) sounds like britain, we have to pay for the water that gets collected by the house guttering (going down the drain) each time it rains.

LOL Yeah we have the sarcastic kind of comments from people near us like 'The lawn is growing well ISNT IT!' kind of comments. i.e Cut your lawn its bringing the neigbourhood down.

Quite like those motor lawnmowers....NOT they do look fun !

~ Have a small farm and nothing more relaxing than mowing the field on a Tractor, shirt off in the hot sun....or the sound of using harrows in the spring.

you could always rip up the grass and lay down some fake turf - make you yard look like a undeveloped mininature golf course......

No water, no mowing, always stays green and never dies plus the fake stuff is starting to look more like real grass anyway. Expensive but would be worth it

I dont mind mowing the lawns- i normally do other friends and relatives lawn as well and they pay me some money or give me free food :)

Here in California, we just get rid of the lawn and turn it into one big rockscape.

    You can't beat zero maintenance.

When I read the title of this thread it reminded me of one summer I had a maintenance job and had to mow lawns 30 hours a week. I had a pair of shoes I would wear for the job that were Dark Green.. from mowing so much.

    That job sucked..

Now I live in an apartment and other people mow the lawn and they have dark green shoes.
