    I've bought domains at godaddy.

Or you can buy from someone who already has one registered. Someone here could help you with how to do that.

What kind of domain are you looking for?

Godaddy will provide you with hosting too :)

Use HostICan, which has cheaper/better hosting w/ a free domain name @ $45 a year. Or DreamHost, which was pretty cheap too if their offer is still up...

If you are going to register a new domain buy it at a well-known and inexpensive registrar (listed above) and buy hosting through another company.

Go for NameCheap and then get some hosting from HostGator for $0.01

There are tons of registrars including Microsoft, Yahoo, GoDaddy, 1and1, Joker and rumors of Google also becoming a registrar. Each registrar has some catch somewhere - for example Microsoft used to offer free domain registration provided you used their Office Live offering. GoDaddy has great prizes for the initial domain registration but at the time of renewal you end up paying the same as other registrars. So, depending on what you're trying to do, you may find a registrar that offers better pricing on the specific need you're trying to fill.

If I choose a free webspace with its own domain name will I lose something from this? I know .com and .net are the best, but for now may be I will try my first site with free domain.
