I am ranked no1 and 2nd page in yahoo but no traffic.

I have recently been working on my seo efforts it has worked in yahoo UK, i am ranked no1 and the second page for my search term however i get little traffic from this.

Do you find yahoo search engine does not deliver a huge amount of traffic or is it just the terms i have chosen maybe.

Interested to hear your thoughts on the amount of traffic yahoo delivers you.

 

Fist of all i would appreciate if you could provide me your particular URl.
Secondly if you would like to drag traffic to your website then you should start working on - social media optimization.
Social networks may not give you backlinks but may assist in delivering huge traffic and brand building.

 

Perhaps your are targeting a non popular keyphrase

 

I found that the traffic from yahoo is about 1/5 from google if on the same postion. maybe the keywords of yours is very little competitive, so the traffic is low

 

Good point it may be the popularity of the keywordsi am going to do some work on that now check how popular the phrases are, Also i have been working on social media marketing but i am new to this field and still getting to grips with it.

I do get about 10time more traffic from google search than yahoo.

 

Because Yahoo and Bing combined aren't competent enough to carry Google's lunch box.

 

better get your rankings in Google, then it will benefit you

 

Always do your KW research before working ! You should have known the traffic/search vol before you started working on those kwp's..

 

If your term does get searches and you're ranking and nobody is clicking your link remember that it's a human person that has to click it, look at your title and description in the serps and consider if you would click your site over your competitors.

Example (your site is #2):

#1 Blue Widgets - 5 Tips Before You Buy
#2 Blue Widgets
#3 Blue Widgets - 20% discount on all items

If your site was number 2 chances are not many people would click it in the serps because the others seem more appealing.

 

your traffic is combination of your ranking and keyword popularity. E.g. being the first and the only search result for dhefurhfghdkghdfgddewqj keyword, won't bring much traffic.

 

What tools would you recommend for the keyword popularity research i have tried a few but not so good results.

I always do kw research through google.

 

Google Keyword Tool, and SEOquake from firefox work well.

 

First of all, check your keyword with Google traffic est.
