I am new to the SEO field. I recently went on a link posting binge on free directories. I also posted comments with anchor texts on blogs with relevant topics. The site i am working for now appears at the top of Google search listing for a certain key phrase. Isn't it logical that the more you spread the word (be it through directories or blog comments) the better for the site? Thanks, Vijay
First of all target your main keyword! If it is optimized then go for another one but do on-page for all keywords together!
You should not judge the quality of web directories based on free or paid, it's absolutely wrong. i would say most of quality is paid, but you should not say paid directories are quality, it's the difference.
I am not seeing great results from submissions yet, but hey, I don't think it can hurt at least, so why not? (I do make sure I submit to directories of good quality though, since I am a bit paranoid regarding having my sites on bad quality sites..)
Thank you all. I truly feel encouraged and it is a great feeling to see the site you are working for move up the SERPs. Nice to be here.
It is true that you can list all you want but if your site doesn't have good quality content, it won't matter. It's a combination of quality, links, and directories.
Thanks for listning. But I think that directoryes with pagerank 0 will do us more harm than benefits.
