Sometimes you find Threads here from doing Google Searches on a specific subject matter, since this is a heavily spidered popular domain - so people sometimes discover or rediscover this forum - then respond to a conversational thread, unlike a news thread which is about current news.

It does not always mean that someone did not notice the date, it could mean it was interesting - whatever the date.
