Well, the title says it all. I am looking for an expert consultant that has long term relationships with lots of different media (especially online media). I need very broad coverage - I believe my "news" is actually newsworthy, so he/she should be able to pull it off. Only serious offers.
Just to clarify - I am talking more about media relations expert. Doesn't have to be cheap, but it has to be real good.

Hey - it's me, Dana Willhoit. Thanks for the referral, Corwinn! I do write press releases for people and submit them to sites like PRWeb Webwire as well as the free press release distribution sites. Here's the thing - publicists, who actually regularly deal with mainstream media, are very expensive and worth every penny. I have a friend who is a publicist; she charges a minimum of $5000 for a six month campaign. It's not something that I regularly do; I specilaize more in online publicity. If you want a referral to the publicist, I can get you her info.

Remember...to be successful, you want thousands of visitors a day, not hundreds. Look at their sites. Do THEY have a lot of traffic? There ya go. Good luck with your search.
I do online media relations for many large clients mostly in the entertainment industry but to be honest if you are wanting someone who knows what they are doing you are going to be looking at around $800 and up a month for a few month minimum to do a quality campaign. My advice to you is find someone who has a very good track record of getting many clients on the websites you want to get on because you are basically paying for the relationships they have built plus their pitching skills. If you are going to be hiring a publicist for a good amount of money you are going to want to be buying a lot more than just some press releases to free press releases websites.
