I am interested in adsense, advice needed!

I currently have a website that specializes in a select few name brand products. I was interested in possibly utilizing adsense in my website but wasn't sure how beneficial it would be. Most of the ads I have looked at seem to be like direct competition to what i sell at similar prices. Does adsense even make sense for someone like me in a competitive niche market?

You can always make use of Competitive Ad filter to block your competitors.

Okay, so your saying that i can block competitive ads. Lets say I am selling the playstation 3 on my website. Many other individuals are using adwords to advertise there ps3's also as well as numerous other items. Does this feature block ads associated with a ecommerce site or does it just block item specific ads. Say ps3man.com is advertising ps3 on adwords, i can block that ad. What if the same site is advertising xbox 360? Will it block that ad since it is associated with ps3man.com?

Also, how do you go about not making your site look like trash. Alot of people see adsense ads plastered all over the place and immediately think that the site is fake or what not, how do you continue to do exceptionally well in the sale department without scaring customers off because of adsense mess on your site?

Just place adsense for a few weeks and track earnings, than decide do you want to keep it or not.
