    Welcome to this business.

Well, the first thing you could do is to add a signature to all your post. If you do not have a website, it is a good idea to start one then add several demo of your work and abilities on them.

Once you have that under your belt, you can use the For Sale/Services section here to offer your design services.

If you can create scripts, you can also sell them too. Alternatively, if you can make websites and sell them off the For Sale/Sites section too.

Get the word out that you are open for business. If you can create a portfolio of your work and what you can do then you can approach local businesses to do up their websites.

    - create a name for your business
    - properly register your business
    - do some sample/example site, start with your own
    - provide links in your signature
    - market your services
    - will be hard work

    Good Luck.

This is a good place to come to get info to start!...do some searches and you'll find tons of info here.

Getting your name out there is probably the hardest part...but once you get the ball rolling it seems to get going quicker and quicker...

network, get to know people, decide exactly what you want to do, set a timeline of goals for yourself and then stick to them...

think outside the box, there are tons of ways to advertise to get your name out into the open...use them all :D

    Welcome jaisriram,

What business you are doing ATM?
To get projects online, post good quality stuff on forums like DP and sitepoint. There are loads of people here who wants someone to do projects for them.

Quality posts is the key. Like if someone is asking for free help, never told him that I can do it for cheap cost. Try to help people as much as possible, this will get you some clients from DP.

I hope this help, I am also a Software Engineer BTW :)

    Get a website.
    Add your portfolio on it
    Get testimonials off previous customers

    Then go to:-

elance and other freelance sites and offer your work and you can show your portfolio and testimonials off past clients!
