Well, being a member of DP and having visited the digital point forums since 2005, have witnessed a lot of changes in DP and the members joining it. The most frustrating of all the posts is posts like this: " I am from India. I am a SEO expert. I can do anything for you Sir" or "sir give me the job. I can do it for cheap" or even "I am the best expert in world sir. seo expert. can rank for any keyword in 3 days" Damn, being an Indian it makes me more ashamed than feeling proud of so many Indians joining the forums. The reason is quite simple. Instead of contributing to the quality of the forum, majority are spamming it with such posts. Not only Indians. This also applies to people from Pakistan, Srilanka, Bangladesh and many more countries where English is not the first language and where cost of living is pretty low. I would like to add that some Indians around many be 5 to 10% at DP are contributing in very positive way to the forum. In fact they are among the best members at DP. What I am talking about here is the rest of 90% inexperienced guys. My advice to fellow Indians and friends from these countries: 1. If you have just learnt computers and internet, just watch the forum for 6 months before making a post. Just join and watch until your english matches that of senior members of DP. I don't say my english is good but its understandable. 2. Even if you are starting a service on DP, wait and watch before just jumping into any thread and saying 'I can do it' 3. SEO is no more a secret. Every web designer knows about it. My kids age 11 know all about SEO. They never say they are experts because kids always want to learn. Neither do I tell them that I am a expert, bcos I know nobody can ever be an expert in SEO. You just keep learning in SEO. It evolves with time. 4. If you feel you can't make a quality post, just don't post. Read until you get the confidence and do not ever be over confident. 5. Learn to respect others and their knowledge. You are not the only knowledgeable person out there. Everybody has had their share of ups and downs in life. 6. Be polite but don't beg. - Like "please sir, please sir, give me one chance' lol 7. Learn the game before you trade and adopt fair means. Don't ever think to make a short term gain by manipulated means bcos this money never stays in hand. Work hard, get the money, save a little and just have fun with the rest. 8. Remember, dignity is important to everybody from any country in the world. Respect others dignity and you will never lose yours. I rarely make a post at DP nowadays but I do keep a check on whats going on here and being active in a forum always helps but it should not be at the cost of quality of the post. After all its not a scrapbook at orkut. Best of Luck
