I am hoping I am in the right forum!

I am getting more and more frustrated. I have lots of questions about how this place works, but can't seem to get anyone to answer. For starters, where (if at all), can I find all my posts, or even the number of posts I've made? That's just my first question...

Click on your name in the upper left of your post and select "Find all post by Editme"

I looked through your posts and didn't see any questions before so keep asking them.

OK... yfs1, here's my next question:
What the heck does this mean in my control panel? (I think that's where I saw it):

    ***
You can run a small application on your computer to log to your profile what you are listening to. You can find more info about it over here.
    Hash:
    ***
    Hash? Where's the pipe?

You enter the hash into the program when you install it and it will show other people what you are listening to.

    No drugs here, sorry

Adding to that: iTunes or WMP required. And the hash is basically a super sleuth secret key to identify you as being yourself so people don't listen to Britney Spears on your account and make you look... Well... Silly.

gotta run. But I shall return. Thanks again!

    OK, further questions:
    1. How did I become a Peon and when does that change to something more palatable?
    2. What is the point system all about?
    3. Do I have to have 50 posts before using AdSense, and how does everyone do with the AdSense? (must you post a zillion times to make some dough?).

    2. No, somewhere I thought I saw that I had 20 points, but now I can't find it, (which is typical).
    3. I heard that some people were making lots of AS revenue here, but I am now hearing that this is more the exception than the rule. My question is, do you have to post all day to make a little money?

I guess it depends on how you define "lots." I learned about digitalpoint via webmasterworld. I was discussing another site - writingup.com that has started recently. I haven't joined it because I am concerned it will be banned and so will all AS members who join, because it is possible for people to click on their own ads (although this is warned against). Several silly members have already been banned.

So the general question I wanted answered at webmasterworld was about this type of model (sharing profits by giving out your AS code to a forum). Here are some of the comments from the thread:
    ***
That's a tough call, a certain well known webmaster forum that shall remain nameless does this for its posters and they were recently reported in a news article as bringing in over 10k a month doing this, so I would assume that the people who post split the other 10k (at a 50% viewing split) and there haven't been any complaints that I've seen about people being banned for doing it.
There are safeguards built in such as the inability to view ads with your own code in them so that you can't accidently click on your own ads.
    ***
    Next person comments:
That webmaster forum has many participating members that say earnings are very low if anything at all...these are the members with 2k+ posts.
Personally I wouldn't ever participate. Not enough reward for the risk.

If you post a LOT, $3 in a day would probably be a huge day. Bottom line is no one is going to be quitting their jobs with the revenue.

Yes. They can be a bit smug, I find. That's another reason why I'm here!
