I am highly confused as to how to get my sites ranked?

I am a newbie, my sites are new but I cannot get natural traffic to them. My sites are www.free-eye-exam.info and www.free-oil-change.info. The competition for the keywords is fierce and my content is unique but I cannot get natural traffic. Anyone have any suggestions for blogs/new sites? is a twitter account helpful?

If the competition for the keyword/s is tough, then you may want to change your strategy and target keywords within that niche that have less competition and rank for those instead. I am not much of a Twitter user and would rather build a facebook fan page and market my website through there.

I think you should not use .info domains. They are used by spammers and very hard to rank in search result. It will take extra time, work and money for getting good position. This is not good for your site's future. On the other hand you have to pay about $12 every year as like other domains. So, you should use domains with .com extension.
