are forums easy to get traffic ? and about earnings.. (maybe adsense), what about CTR ,etc i am going to start a new forum.. but don't know is it worh ? thanks.
Never fill it with online advertisements, have one or 2, but nothing to distracting, it should not be something that is on a dark background because white text hurts the eyes after a while. Use ad placement below the navigation bar/header and to the right of the forum index, topic index, and individual threads. Use picture ads mostly, never put ads in between posts, this kills your rep. What I've thought of doing is inserting a small adsense code into the box where the users information is, such as profile and avatar, etc. Also, don't ever try to start a general gaming community, I've seen many started only to fail. Reviews and interview forums are good. Such as reviewing games and interviewing game developers.

forums are hard get get up and running and tough to get traffic at first.. and are notorious for low earnings.. I've created two forums.. one is very popular with about 14,000 members, the other tanked and died.. I've found that In-text ads like Kontera or Chitika Linx earn better in my forum than Adsense..
In all honesty if your planning on starting a forum your going to have to put a lot of work in. Forums don't tend to make a lot with adsense but I'm sure you could find some other ways. You should do some research and see how many other forums there are out there that are covering the niche your interested in and see what you can offer that they dont. The most important thing is not to give up and be prepared to put the hard yards in. Good luck buddy!
Don't expect to be up and running in a matter of minutes. Any niche you choose will take some time to build. A constant flow of visitors waiting to sign-up to your forum is unrealistic. They are really hard to start up.
dont put ads on a forum right away as if there is little post but ads all over the place people want wanted to know. what you do is start with a free fourm software like phpBB or mybb, SMF or any other one you like or want to try but just make sure that you can convert the database to vb or IPB or what not if you want to at any point. mind mybb is becoming very much like vb and IPB. get people in posting. post things so that they just come to have fun then they will start posts topicks there selfs when you get say three or fourm member that post a lot add away for them to invite people maybe make one of the your think you can tust a mod or somthing. then when you got a few members posting there is the time to add ads but remember just add them don't tell them about them this way the users just see them as a part of the website. nomaly giving more clicks hope this is some sort of way. but fourms dont tend to earn that much as people post more then they click. but you can make a lot out of them if you can get post going that people will want to know about and could find in google ect
Forums need traffic and a lot of daily content to work well in my opinion. Try to get a few friends together that can post stuff each day to get the ball rolling. If you've already got traffic and you're adding the forum to it you're already ahead of the game
