    best free forum software available? I love Vb, but need something to work on until
    that moment arrives! Many thanks in advance for help and advice :D :cool:

    I started with PHPBB prior to jumping to vBulletin. Looking back, I should have just found money to do vBulletin from the start. It's that damn good.

    You could also go for a cheaper second hand vbulletin license to avoid having to pay someone to convert your free forum into vbulletin at a later stage.

    MyBB is the closest thing you will get to vBulletin. Its great.
