4 months and quitting? Ouch...... Goodluck! I'd say quit in 4 more months if you don't get anywhere... but 4 months online time is nothing.
4 months is very short time... More than your earnings, you should be focused on your audience. The more people that read what you write, the more you'll earn. Attempting to "over-monetize" your websites by placing a lot of intrusive advertising will keep any potential potential away. There's no magical recipe to win tons of money. Write about the things you like, and spend time promoting it. If you're able to build up a big audience, then it's very easy to monetize, or even make a handsome profit by selling that website.
I have had my site for about 2 moths now and made nothing zip 0 on absence I have one on each page and still making nothing, So I feel your pain! LINK IN SIG to see my site
Thats a nice forum mate and well set out but ive tried a forum and they take at least a year to take off so dont despair. Listen, thanks for all the advice and messages and I really am sorry for my drunken outbursts on Sunday night.
badcompany, I think your health site is promising because it's based on your experience with your heart problems (also easy on the drinking buddy). Keep it personal and informative based on the research you do to stay healthy. But yeah it takes a year to start seeing some results. You have to like what you write about, or at least feel it's worthwhile.
Cheers Koan and I will deff stick at it to see where it goes, I am getting a steady flow of traffic but it's getting those clicks that is the problem.
Good luck elsewhere. That is why many people fail on the Internet. Like any business you have to work for nothing for a while until it gets up and running. You have to be prepared to work hard for the long term.
Guess we all reach certain points where it's easier to just give up than to continue posting even on days when you get no clicks, anyways as you say, hard work will eventually pay off !
According to SEO expert Jill Whalen, SEO isn't magic and isn't a crap-shoot. "SEO is about making your website the best it can be for your site visitors and the search engines." Want to help the right kind of people find your website? Then you need to design your site so search engines can find, crawl and index your pages.
I agree, Adsense just isn't for everybody. But dont give up yet, dont you want to get your first Adsense payment? I got mine after 3 months I've installed adsense
