I have tried to earn $$ from Chitika since September 2008 but only earn $1.78 . This is really tired to reach the minimum $10 to be paid. I am give-up and will out from this one.
As long you get high traffic (500 uv is sufficient), $10/month is easy. You can place chitika ads below your page title for better earning, but the cons is your page become ugly.
They pay out only at $10? That's cool - I think I made $15 in my first month last month. Do you know when the payouts are? (yes, I'm sure I could look it up lol)
You probably don't get much search traffic then - or you get traffic that is not from the US. I make quite a bit of money with Chitika (not as much as Adsense, but enough to make them my #2 earner). I think that people who don't do well with them just don't get the right type of traffic.
I gave up too, another thing is that I don't focus on search engine traffic all that much, nor do I care whether search engine visitors are from the U.S or not. I'd stick with adsense
I have been thinking of trying out Chitika. For those of you using it now, what would you say is the amount of traffic you have to have inorder to at least reach the $10 payout each month? Thanks
I guess for chitika you have to get a good traffic from search engine... I combine chitika ads and the alternative ads using adsense. Well actually I have better earning then my adsense.
I just added them a coupe days ago so I haven't seen what the revenue is going to be. Getting 150ish clicks a day so I have my fingers crossed...
Thanks for the feedback. I didn't notice anyone pointing out any advatntage chitika has over adsense? What are the advatages if any? I can clearly see the disadvantages so give me some balance guys.
I think this was my problem as well. Site hits were high and targeted, but US traffic was very low. This seems to be a problem with a lot of ad networks, I dont think they make you aware enough though
What do you consider decent? I added it to my site last week. So far I'm making with Chitika roughly 80% of what I was making with Adsense alone without drastically reducing my Adsense revenue. So I think I'll stay with it. My in-content ad does 3x as well as a banner I'm also using, so I'd recommend using that if you can.
