Why would anyone submit articles to these places? Article submission to these free article directories is a complete waste of time... These places are just giant link farms that hold no weight for you links. If you're going to submit articles, submit them somewhere people will read them or a backlink will count. Traffic from these places is useless.. When is the last time anyone read an article on one of these sites (about 3 years ago).

Actually it's not a waste of time, SEOs use article marketing as an effective weapon in web promotion all the time. I use it to achieve top ten in Google for certain keywords as well. Although for more competitive keywords it will take more than article marketing (what doesnt?), it still works for many other less-competitive keywords that still deliver a steady flow of visits each day. Considering the only marketing was done for FREE via article directories, the cost is clearly worth it.

Show me what top ten keywords you got in google using article submission? Its really easy to see if article submission was the cause for the top 10 or something else. All you have to do is list the keyword, the website, and maybe the article. I'm betting you can't do this for a competitive keyword.

The ideal situation would be a for you to list a new site where article submission helped with a competitive keyword. If you offer Full Service Article Marketing and you REALLY think this works, i'm sure you have hundreds of examples.

"I use it to achieve top ten in Google for certain keywords as well." I just want to see these? Keywords and links thats all... not to much to ask right?

I would love to give you the goods concerning my sites, but maybe another day. You would probably feel that they ranked because of the targeted content on page. Of course, the content wouldn't have been seen without the marketing efforts, but they both play equally valuable roles.

What is the argument anyways? That you can't rank for anything with article marketing? A simple test will reveal this to be false. Of course, it is more difficult to rank with keywords the more competitive they get. This is why you need to combine your marketing methods with other things (synergy).

The argument is to back your claim... "I use it to achieve top ten in Google for certain keywords as well." I just want to see these top ten results for keywords. You should be able to back this up right?

Some people spread bad information to try and make a sale and that is one of my pet peeves. If this is not you I apologize, just show me your top ten results and I’ll be on my way. At this point it doesn’t matter if I think article submission created the results for you, let the others decide. If you’re not sure don’t write it, if you are sure post it and prove it or at least prove that you know SEO. If a person goes around saying article submission is a must for SEO, I would like to see the SEO results they talk about.

As long as your keyword isn't "Exclusive Private Label Rights Business Articles", "extensive categorization", or something crazy and its your website you should be good.

It did take a bit to learn what Article Marketer wants with every article. They still return articles, saying they are in the "wrong category," but I have found that it is worth it to resubmit if you have patience. After having experience in knowing what format they want, many times my articles are accepted on the first or second try.

I also use Ezine, but am now (thanks to the forum) looking into iSnare.

Seriously, who will share their niches and keywords here (especially when it is non competitive) just to prove that article submission works? It is not uncommon to see how "Ezine alone" can help to rank top 10 in Google for misspelled keyword or non-competitive keywords (and not to mention the traffic you got from MSN for some competitive keywords).

Normally when you hear someone that says they "know SEO" and "I'm ranked in the top ten for competitive keywords" but can't prove it they are full of it. If its a competitive keyword there is no niche... Basically if you see a lot of adwords ads when searching its competitive.

I hear that all the time "Seriously, who will to share their niches and keywords here"... You know not everyone has "niche" keywords and not everyone has secrete keywords. Do you really think everyone here has these secrete keywords that bring them a ton of money. Anyone can figure mine out just by looking at my site, its really not such a huge secrete.

I have no idea what your point is about "Ezine alone"???

Constant you should learn how to use the quote's command more effectively, as the words you are putting in my mouth are inaccurate.

"I use it to achieve top ten in Google for certain keywords as well. Although for more competitive keywords it will take more than article marketing (what doesnt?), it still works for many other less-competitive keywords that still deliver a steady flow of visits each day."

Yes - keywords are huge and there is such a thing as less-competitive niche keywords that bring in a decent amount of targeted visits everyday. By the way, ever heard of Bum Marketing?? Maybe not.

Like candle21428 mentioned, Ezine can do wonders. Some of the articles I have submitted to Ezine have achieved top rankings for decent keywords with less competition.

Hey at this point I would love to see any keywords, but of course your not going to post them because they don't exist. Keep giving false info and suckering the rookie webmaster who doesn't know any better. You might as well push link farms and promote FFA pages while your at it.

This is my last post on this unless you come up with some keywords. The angry article man is signing off. :)

ConstantContent, if you are so desperate in seeing a "real" example, feel free to pm me and I would love to show you a site of mine that rank top 10 (or even top 5) on Google for non-competitive keywords (as long as you don't publish it here).

Of course, like aletheides has mentioned, "it will take more than article marketing" to rank well (or even get indexed) on Google.

But it is definitely not hard to get 50-100 unique a day using article marketing for each niche site along with a few quality links, and I don't think it is true to claim that we are "giving false info" here.

candle21428 I'm more then willing for you to show me examples and I will not post them here, but don't bother if they are keywords like "extensive categorization" or some weird keyword.

50-100 uniques a day from articles submissions doesn't mean they are real people, i hope you know the difference between real traffic and the traffic that "Free Article Directories" provide. That's part of problem is people see traffic and assume its good traffic, there is a big difference.

Constantcontent, I have sent you a site for review.

Those keywords are not competitive, but as you can see there are advertisers targeting those keywords on Adwords.

Yes it is true that those people may not be real visitors, but I don't care as long as I am making good money from adsense (lol, it is a MFA site as you can tell, so please don't post it anywhere).

I don't have a site that "merely" do article marketing, this is the only niche with the least "quality backlinks". I hope it can "prove" something to you.

candle21428 what if I told you I could get the same results if not higher for that keyword by simply writing an article on the subject and posting it on my site... Would that prove anything? Kinda like this thread:

    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=243081

But of course a real article. I wouldn't write it since i'm not a writer but I would have one of my writers do it.

I kinda resent CC's implications here, why would someone lie about their results? When they have no reason to (that is, unlike CC they are not promoting their own service)?

I would similarly be curious to know, how would constantcontent demonstrate that the above is true, i.e they'd get similar or higher results and there is no guanratee some webmaster will buy or use that content?

Just a PS, I too have gotten top 10 in google - within a day or two - for long tail keywords just from posting an article to Ezinearticles. I use a pseudonym so I'm not going to post the keyword here but there are more than one. And I'm not "full of it" just because I don't feel like saying wha the word was, you'll just have to take my word for it. :p

I haven't gotten that kind of result from AM and also will be cancelling at end of 3 month trial.

First I'm not promoting anything... the other poster however is, can't you read "Full Service Article Marketing: $10 per article". What I'm trying to do is end the concept that article submission is a good thing.

Why would someone lie about results? Maybe to plug the service they sell "Full Service Article Marketing: $10 per article"... maybe for the same reason you see posts around here that say "I just made $100,000 in one day"... or maybe they are getting results but are under the impression that its article submission that is giving them the results.

I would do the same thing I did with the "extensive categorization" thread. It has nothing to do with me selling content or plugging my site. It just means keywords that are not competitive are easy get rankings for. You don't need article submission to do this.

Anyway I knew posting in this thread was a bad idea... AM, man o man. I should go find the FFA pages thread and post in that too. Anyway back on subject... ignore my posts.

Haha, funny but a little strange how you end the discussion with a sales pitch then point the finger at me for plugging...

CC - the only reason you are against article submissions is so you can promote the benefit of good content. Although I won't argue with the benefits of good content, the tirade shouldn't continue when you are downtalking a marketing technique which clearly works and many use.
