I am tired to see Google Analytics shows only after a time, statistics during the day, i mean i have statscounter on 24 hours visit and it real time. If you want real time you use that with google, cause analytics it gives you the real statics the next day maybe, and if the they have problems, maybe you will see the real stats in the next days FFS! Do you guys have the same problem? Pissed off lol
i prefer statcounter pretty much 10 to 1. I have both but i never check google. i'm not even sure i've seen the new 'design'. It was so horribly redundant.
I am always amazed that Google can't get their link click counter to work. I have had analytics on a couple of sites for three months and never once has the link click counter worked.
The real statistics of google analytics you can see the next day (24h) but the statistics are updated each 4 hours more or less. For me is enough.
i like it a lot, the main problem is the update time, which is more or less 20-24h. i used it a lot, but for day checking stats i use extreme tracker. basically i use both, one for week analysis, the other just for a quick check.
Not sure what the problem is... By default Google Analytics shows you the stats from last month until yesterday. But if you want the stats from today, just simply click twice on the date of today (beginning/end) and there you go, you have the stats from today! OK, they are not truely given in realtime, there is a delay of a few hours, but that is the same with Awstats... Just click the date!
yeah there is no need to see stats from 5 minute ago...i mean what are you going to do with the information? you want to use tracking software to analyze longer term trends, problems, or areas you need to improve. knowing that 20 people bounced in the past 20 minutes gives you nothing to work off. knowing that your bounce rate on average has decreased over the past month does tell you your doing something right
The real difference between analytics and statcounter is that statcounter does not provide historical data. They have a limit of 500 entries in their free version. Analytics doesn't seem to have a such a limit. This is especially important if you want to know who your biggest traffic referrers are. With statcounter the "came from " data is only as good as the last 500 visitors which is may not be good enough for some sites.
I think Google Analytics is great for what it provides, & waiting a couple hours for the stats to update is well worth it. Statcounter is just that, a counter & doesn't provide much useful information besides that if your sites has any sort of traffic.
