Hey guys, I have had my site up (with its current redesign) for around 2 months now and am receiving stupidly low amount of hits. I have written (and am writing more) unique content for the website and spend some time on my keyword research. I see some people with hideous websites getting 200-300 clicks a day starting out... i can barely muster around 10 clicks a day! All the clicks i do get are solely from bing. Only ever had 1 click from Google. What am i doing wrong?? I use Facebook and Twitter and nothing ever seems to come from either. I also post on yahoo answers but little seems to come through that! Is it purely down to the competition of keywords i have chosen? HELP http://www.pctabletpc.co.uk - Not alowed to use live links yet
They are probably doing Backlinks for SEO rankinks..I use a free software called social monkee They could be doing doing Email Marketing.. They could be doing PPC... They could be doing social bookmarking you get my point here..they could be doing a number of things the key is to focus on what you do and master the marketing method.. try NOT to focus on others...Focus on your and Website..learn all you can... you will do well
You got very competitive niche. work more on social marketing to drive traffic. You will barely get visitors from google unless you work on SEO alot and in my opinion it's not worth it. (You also don't have many articles there. ) Good Luck
I'd recommend writing an article that can go viral. Spread that around your social networks and hope that others share it around.
If you are dong the content right then what you might need is promotion. There are various methods to get you site promoted, some are for free while others have a fee.
Backlinking your site in different forums or article directory's or? Having different sources from other websites allows Google spiders to link back and get you better searches. Other then this you need to let people know that are interested that your site exists. Remember there are millions of websites out there. Why should people go to yours? You need to get your site out there, no one else will.
Your website is new, so give it some time to get indexed by search engines. Try to get back links to your website. Try link exchange to get started with. Also do some good blog commenting but do not spam, make sure your comments are helpful and sensible. That way your website should pick up.
I must say that you have chosen a market with very high competition when your are targeting the keywords like "PC Tablet". If you want more targeted traffic you should better aim for targeted social media marketing and social networking. Also participate in forums which are relevant to PC tablets, Windows 8 tablet and Android Tablet Computer. You can talk about tablet PCs and Android based tablets in tech and hardware related forums and blogs. I have seen your iPad 2 review, you can make your reviews more strong by talking about features in points, make your review look like a set of 10 features or best 10 features of iPad, try to play around more and more keywords related to products while reviewing.
Thank you all for the advices. Could someone please recommend me a few free methods of promoting my site? Where, how?
you need to take a second looking at your keyword.it could be very competitive.also, you need to use social networking more and do some seo to get free organic traffic
You should use all seo channels to promote your website specially social bookmarking. Getting traffic from google takes time and your site is new so will take time.
There is an article here that might help you out: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2243218 Just keep writing and submit to search engines and directories. have fun and good luck!
It may just be the competition of the keywords, which is why it is a extremely important to do keyword research before venturing on anything
Try some blog commenting, you can get some useful software for free which is still manual but it will allow you to do things much quicker, if you are interested then please PM me and I will show you it. This got me around 10 visitors more per day per 20 blog comments.
First of all you are in a very competitive industry and secondly you have a very new website. Rather than looking to rank for general keywords like Android tablet computers you need to research and find out a specific niche that you could cater to. Getting new and unique content in the site is a always a good thing, but since you are in a highly competitive industry you need to do more. You have to get more aggressive in your link building and for that article directories could be a good place. From personal experience I am not for blog commenting as it is pretty difficult to get blog comments approved. All the very best.
You can try Guest Posting on High Page rank websites related To your Niche, and keep writing unique content share it on social bookmarking websites like stumbleupon, Digg etc..as time pass your website will start crawling by gogle spiders..
Just got into my mind, you can try videos on different topics related to your website. You can create a YouTube channel and create tech videos and videos related to tablet PC. Submit videos to your YouTube channel and other video sharing websites. Videos are always cool and people like to watch them instead of reading a review of more than 500 words. Create innovative video reviews of tablet PCs. Don't forget to put the link to your website in YouTube video description.
Thank you guys for all of your ideas and suggestions. I do intend to put them all into practice. Currently writing new content for the site and getting a few more visitors each passing day. I have tweaked my title and description to (hopefully) make them a bit more appealing to potential clickers Seen nothing in Google so far but Bing results are positive. I am at a loss with how to improve my keywords though. From looking at you guys posts it seem that may be one of my biggest problems. Every idea i get for a keyword seems to have high competition and low searches :/ (i am using traffic travis and google keyword website)
