I recently got a letter saying that my site had not validated yesterday. When I checked, it was true, it did not validate. However, a few more clicks, and it did validate, with the usual 18,000 weight. More recently my weight validates at 4,618, and right now at 1,872, and yesterday at 18,000. The thing is, nothing on the site has changed. I am feeling gypped, because I am contributing 18,000 and getting back 1,872 worth of ads. Am I wrong? Can anyone make any suggestions?
My understanding is that these weight fluctuations are due to fluctations in the Google index not a problem with the network.
Would such a variation be responsible for the site failing to validate? Also, a +/- 90% variation seems excessive for any day to day Google variations. I wish someone would tell me that I am I out of line here, because being a part of this network seems to be a good thing. Just the same, it seems very unfair, (and expensive), to get such a small return on my investment.
I have seen a lot of variation between datacenters recently. I posted last night that on one datacenter all of my sites but one (1) were removed from the index. Today, everything is back to normal.
It's free Also, if you have a look at this thread, it may give you an insight into why the fluctuations in weight are occurring... http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=8577 Basically, you need to check your page counts in google, using the API...
Thank you guys. Can you tell me how you check the data for so many datacenters. I follow about a dozen "key phrases" on three sites, and climbing. Also how do you "check your page counts in google, using the API... I have an API number, but have been checking the page counts with site:www.website.com. Is there a better way?
Hello Blademaster. Its not really free in the sense that there is a PR "cost" with each ad may site shows. I expect a PR return for each ad other coop members give me. I do understand that the coop "charges" about 7% for its services, and am gladly willing to "pay" it. What is bothering me is that I seem to be "paying" 18,000 weight points and receiveing about 1,800 weight points.
You have to understand, that this network IS NOT ABOUT PR... (PS... PR leak is irrelevant anyway). You get back just as much as you put into the network. You are recieving 1800 weight, because pages are being dropped from your site I should imagine... (In the Google Index I mean)... Not too sure where "7%" comes from...
Hello Shawn. I got the 7 % number from some thread here which I lost track of more than a month ago when I started with the coop. Thank you for everything you are doing within the webmaster community. You have my respect.
