    Hi friends,

I bought a domain name from yahoo small businesses. Until the domain name is expired, Yahoo hadn't send any notifications. After one week of expiration, they sent a "domain name expired" message. I tried to renew it and I faced with the fact that Yahoo assigned its domain names to a company called Melbourne IT. Melbourne IT wanted $42 to renew it again.

    Now, what shell I do?

Yahoo doesn't have a manual renewal option. They auto-renew using the credit card on file. Your best bet is to pay the $42 ASAP unless you don't want the domain anymore.

I have read stories that you have to watch Yahoo when it comes to domains, not good exposure for their otherwise trusted brand

You need to have funds on the CC for it to renew

I bought this domain name two years ago and I forget to renew my CC information on my yahoo account. I am also working with "Godaddy" for 4 years and I have never had such a stupid situation. Before the expiration date of any domain name, I was getting reminding e-mails and if I forgot to renew for all these reminding e-mails, I had a choice to renew it with nearly the same price as I bought the domain name.

On the other hand, who the hell is "Melbourne IT", I had a dealing with yahoo and how did the yahoo transfer my domain to an other company. I do not want to pay a cent to these cheaters.

Yahoo is a reseller for Melbourne IT - Australian & the world's 5th(?) largest registrar.
