Well, I know when I had my floral business, I belonged to a floral/gift basket message board. A well known member came on one day to say how someone took the pics off her site, stole verbage, etc. While she didn't post a link to this woman's site in her post, many of us "got hold" of the website info, and bombarded her email with emails letting her know that we all knew what she did (and there were about 12K of us on that message board. I think only 2K of us emailed her), and suggested she take the photos down.

She did take the photos and the verbage down off her site.

Now, that is extreme and may not work, but someone up above recommended giving him a link to this thread, and I agree with him. When he realizes that you are part of a community that does not put up with his nonsense, I think you'll find that those pictures will just melt away right off his site....

But then, I'm in a cranky mood after reading this, so I may be wrong.

Ya'll have a humdinger of a weekend, now!

If you have the original image and it has not been modified, then it would be easier to prove to the court that you took that picture. If you can prove too that you bought the camera and the pictures was taken with that kind of camera, then it would be better.

Concerning the suing, this is not a bad idea, but where in the world is that person? If you live in the USA and the person lives in China, it is probably a big waste of time and money. You can probably ignore his letter. Suing is so expansive and long that most cases people lose more than they recover even if they win. If you are suing a well establish company and you win, then you may get back your investment. Contact the web host of the person. That could help. Also I heard that Google has a copyright infringement section. Just these procedures are enough time spent that you may not recover.

I wouldn't worry about it. He has to sue you in your home state and county. It is a game he is playing called extortion. I would notify the attorney general and all the fraud sites.

It is always nice to call the fraudster and talk about his mother..

This idiot needs to be put straight.

If you hover your mouse over an image, you should get the full data for the image, including the model of camera and date the image was made. On your flash-card, (even if you deleted or moved an image), there will be a recoverable copy with the same data. Take the scuzzbag to Court.

    Regards
    JJ

Once a casino owner in Albania threatened me (physically, not legally :p) because I had uploaded a funny self-made pic of his casino parking space :D. Moreover, I asked him 2k+ euros just as an "administrative fee" :p. So, just ignore the fools, and have as much fun as you can with them ;)
