I am banning adsense oriented sites on my directories

I am getting a lot of submissions to my directories.
And most of them are so darn spammy with adsense ads from the very top to the very bottom, with damn little content on the page.
I have a travel directory that I have not advertised for submissions as I am selling it, so from there, lots of people are adding their sites (this is a travel directory, so why do people submit links to smoking sites, directories of seo tools, etc?).
First 3 sites I checked, one had adsense from top to bottom, with one little paragraph in the middle of adsense ads saying here is your travel destination blog.
    Nothing else!

So I am now not going to accept spammy adsense sites on my directories.
If a site submitted has adsense, but that is secondary to the content, that is good and I will approve.

Any other directory owners doing this?
    Thinking about doing this?
Or will accept all sites, regardless of the above types of adsense sites?

    Thank you.

I dont normally include sites that aren't relevant and are just pure ads.
But yet again I only have 2 directories at the moment hehe

I notice a lot of directories specify no MFA in their submission guidelines. And those who don't say it outright have it implied when they insist on only listing sites with sufficient content.

Having the maximum 3 Adsense blocks is always a dead giveaway.

Let/s start a movement among all directory owners:
No MFA sites or sites with no content.

I check each and every site submitted. And yes, there are quite a few adsense spam infested sites. sometimes, that's all that I see, so I just don't add any links for the day.

I wish all directory owners took that stance, then their'd be less spam showing up in the serps.

I’ve banned excessive PPC advertising content off all kinds for quite some time now. I never thought I would see Google become one of the largest facilitators of low quality directory spam.

Don't see why banning websites with little to no content and adds spammed everywhere would be a bad idea. Start the movement!

    That's the truth about google.
    No adsense, no spam sites.
Plus that would throw a lot of those gurus who spout off about building thousands of adsense sites and blogs out of work.

    The movement has started!
Any MFA sites, spam sites, no content sites (speaking of which, just had a site under construction submitted to one of my directories), and any site with nothing but adsense on the top fold....deleted without prejudice.

The trouble is, this thread is preaching to the converted. I think most reputable directory owners don't list this stuff, and haven't for some time. But these MFA sites must gather links somehow, right? Aside from the few directories that approve nearly every link, there are plenty of places MFA sites can pick up links. So I think we'll all be deleting link requests from these sites for some time to come.

Oh darn my firewall blocks all ads, be it google or foogle. So i have no way of knowing which site got ads on them so i guess its just personal preference to ban site with ads only, after all most image uploading siteas are only ads and no content and yet people use them.So why ban sites just because they got ads, after all google will close their adsense account if they break their TOS so just use some filter instead of banning sites with google or other ads on them only.

    Cheers.

    Hi,
I have a Niche Directory, too. It's new. And i think if i have a directorie i must offer any sites to my users. And all Webmaster need Money, for that reason use most Webmaster Adsense or another PPC Programms.

Ok. If a site have no content only adsense i will not be adding to my directory. But you must regular check all sites if their have not to much PPC of their site.
For example : If i think % 40 - 70 of directories dont accept sites with Overfulled PPC then i dont put it on my site. If i have more visit and will be accepted from more directories then put i Adsense or Another Revenue programms.
For this reason you must regular check the listed sites on your directories.

Because if i can't listing good sites my user dont will be revisit my directory. It's not easy to manage and control a directorie if you want to be the best.
