How can this website be worth $50 when you don't even know the kind of traffic it gets or the keywords that it ranks well in Google, if it does rank well.

I'm not trying to slam the site just trying to understand. Am I wrong to think that the value of a website comes from the traffic first, then Google ranking, Then comes monitization, design, conversion, and finally PR. Can someone breifly explain, and/or point me to a good article explaining this.

First of all, I don't want to play it off as I know everything or even anything about determining a value of a site. But let me try and entertain your questions by providing you my own concepts and understanding about the matter.

PR = Votes casted out regarding your site. So I am assuming that google gave it a PR4 because it has some sort of VALUE when it comes to websites relevant contents and the number of backlinks there are.

Although, there may not be very many traffic to this site, a person has a QUICKSTART in the optimization process, because 1) it has some age to it. 2) it has a page rank

Now lets assume a person spends time and brings this site to a PR5, which I believe is not very difficult because most of the sites I have have a PR5 already. But lets say you have a PR5, How can one make money on this site? We look at the section of this forum that BUYS, SELLS, TRADES links. You can start selling sitewide, homepage links at an X amount. Just take a look at the categories in the forums you'll be surprise how much money people here actually make selling subscriptions. You see the Higher your page rank the more value to your site. So with that said, I think even a PAGERANK 4 has more worth than $50. Besides take a look at the INNERPAGES, they too all have PAGERANK.. If this site was to be optimize with some TLC, you can definitely monetize this site.

As far as TRAFFIC goes, well I think you only need traffic, if one your selling a PRODUCT or service and/or using the site for google adsense.

Not always! my laptop almost always gives different values then my desktop for the toolbar, a little anoying and I have yet to figure out why.

Assuming you sell 10 spots per inner page at $10 per year thats $100 per page x 6 inner pages = $600

How about the homepage say 10 spots @ $20 per year. = $200

Thats $800.00
