is it ok to receive above $500 with paypal?

I have heard many stories and I am very afraid that paypal might limit the account. I have a verified premier PP.

There's no problem with receiving (or withdrawing) $500 at a time from PayPal as long as you're a verified user and the source of your funds is genuine.

I normally withdraw no more than 50-70% of the funds I have in my PayPal a/c at any time. Often I withdraw only small weekly amounts keeping with the transaction 'trends' of my account.

The max I've received in my PayPal at a time is about $200-300. All people who've paid me so far are verified buyers.

yes, i want to receive affiliate commissions which is genuine money. i am still skeptical about paypal and you never know what they have in mind. I am just not prepared to lose what i have now by going for high value payments (i mean above $500). i talked to the company to send me split the payment over 2 months and they refused to do so.

i dont know whether to feel happy or sombre regarding the payment. i still have heart in my mouth.

I don't think so that you need to worry if sender is genuine (as you says affiliate commissions).

    DON.

I agree with everyone. If you have a genuine sender and your account is verified then there is no need to worry. I sent my friend $500 and there was no problem in the transaction. Neither mine nor his account were made limited by paypal.

If the sender is genuine, $500 should not be an issue.

If you still have an issue, ask the affiliate to pay you via check/bank transfer.

If an affiliate network sends you the funds then no worries, it should be fine, usually problems pop up when non verified PayPal buyers buy goods and send enormous sum of cash with PayPal.

I accept payments of more than double that pretty often, and have not once had an issue with Paypal. I wouldn't worry about it. If you're running a business, and accepting high payments though, I'd say be sure you're using a business account, or at the very least a premier account (or whatever they call it). If you're trying to do it with a personal account, you'll probably run into issues.

As long you're a verified user and the payment is genuine, you don't need to worry accepting the payment.

If you still hesitate, just contact Paypal saying that you're going to accept big payment for the first time to your account. Most of the top Internet Marketers are doing this when they're having a big launch for their products.

It's way too easy for the sender to file a claim and while you get screwed. Make sure you keep track of all you previous communications, must be from their paypal address. If their paypal address is different from what he used then just send an email to his paypal address and have him confirm that he agreed to the service.

Have a list of agreed items for the service. If you are selling a service or software, send them a letter with tracking.

Try everything to do everything to prevent chargeback. If the seller isn't reputable and they you'll be doing all of this then odds are they wont sent the money.

With my experience if you had a previous conversation with that person then odds are you probably safe.
