ok I am about to launch and affiliate based site of mine and am looking into keywords. My questions is - where can I find a list of keywords and what people are paying for them is it standard practice to show my link to my site here or is that taboo here? I know some webmasters hide their links.. I really want this campaign to work and want as much info as possible so i dont waste too much money experimenting thanks gang!
Try here first: http://uv.bidtool.overture.com/d/search/tools/bidtool/ Showing your link is a GOOD way to get noticed! Go for it.
ok, site is unfinished but can be seen at www.yougotacall.com I have now am trying to figure out what to do for a good landing page
So you mean for adwords how do you find good keywords? Did you try the adwords keyword tool and not like it? I use that and a program called adwords accelerator that rocks. I've bought lots of software online, but this one I actually use. It's not perfect tho because it doesn't show all the keywords you could use- maybe because google doesn't anymore either. That's why overture is good too- even if the adwords keywords tool says nada about certain ones, try them in your adgroup. But more importantly, use common sense and pick targeted keywords. You can also use the Traffic Estimator (within the AdWords suite of tools) to determine what advertisers are bidding for keywords. You can use it for one keyword or a group of keywords, and it returns quite a bit of data. HTH, Sam
Put in as many relvent keyword as posible and see which one got the traffic. I noticed that the bid price are quite high, like $1 per click. really can not affort to compete.
yes the bids are amazing for this niche, very competitive. I obviously cant compete with them but I can at least start and pick away at it. My budget is limited Might start with $15 a day and not pay more than $0.25 a click for the first month and see what happens think this is a good idea?
I've tried a lot of things, but most importantly is to remember to pick keywords that make sense to you. Don't pick the general ones with only one or two words (unless one of the two words is quite unique). If you want a buyer, and 'buy' is in the keyword, go for that. People tend to move from general to specific as they get closer to making the buying decision. Try to grab them closer to the buying decision, when they're informed and warmed up. Later maybe you can afford to pay to educate them.
