    Hi,

the thread title says it all.

I have the products lined up and am ready to go but find the manual overpowering.

anyone here have any good examples of what they have done with this joomla extension?

    anyone?

Mate, you can do anything that you want to do with Virtuemart. You can look at any shopping cart and turn your VM like them. Thanks,

Virtumart is an excellent ecommerce shoping cart platfor but like most free things, it has its short coming like you have just found out from the maual. You may want to use virtumart that a vendor has sort of modified with some support available from the vendor. If you want to use virtmart straight out of the box, be prepared to spend some time learning about the software.

I think with my limited income at the moment that I might have to plod through it a bit. I have installed the sample data and will see how I go from there over the next week.

I have already asked a few questions inside of the VM forum which thankfully were well answered. it is great how these community forums band together when you have issues with installations, thank you for your answers,

I hope you business will prosper and exceed Virtumart. In my experience when a business gets this stage there is always a major issue when migrating from one shopping cart to another, well that is perhaps a river you have to cross when you get to it, just warninng you haven got to that river and finding it excrusiatingly difficulto cross.

    Good luck

since virtuemart is made for joomla and is seemingly the main one recommended and I am unlikely to go above 100 products I think it should easily grow with me.

products will be a set size and there are no color options etc, so it really comes down to aesthetics and functionality (that the payment system and postage calculator work). the reality is that you can only take recommendations and try something out, if it doesn't work at the start I wont be using it.
