You can use a free CMS like "Wordpress" or "Joomla", and by that you can create a new site only with 10 minutes, and to download a lot of free template (but because you are designer, I'm not sure you will need that...)

God no. God no. Google in it's current state took hundreds of thousands of man-hours to build, and Facebook, maybe even more.

If you want to web design, don't immediately try and jump in with little experience and label yourself as a professional. You won't make any money that way. A web design project, depending on it's difficulty (the design part) should probably take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks to complete. I would definitely recommend you to design, at least at first to build skills, or simply for 'fun' until you get good enough.

Well, if you know html and graphics, why not give it a shot. Here's how you can start:

    1. Search for some portfolio sites (Google it). It would help you to come up with a design.
    2. Once, you are done with the design, think of something unique. As most portfolio sites looks similar (these days, every portfolio site looks like a COPIED version of another). Try to add a little charm in the design to make it stand out from other designs already available on the internet.
    3. When you are ready with your plans for implementation, than now is the time to start designing and than coding your site.

Good luck and let me know when you are done with the design...Enjoy

You first have to answer one question: Are you a web designer or a web developer..
The examples you gave are strictly development wise, none about design..

My advice is go check the templates section here and look around, then start building some templates yourself, sell them really cheap at first, that way to build your portfolio. You can even include them in your port. before they are sold.

thank you all for your reply
    i know
    html
    xml
    j.s
    and some php
along side scripting but i can design templates also
right now what i think i want to know are projects that you might have done(their details),let me see if i can do them.
but as for templates, will i just build like the site and leave fields blank or write something like put address here ???
and are you trying to say as a webdeveloper,if you dont know designs, you can just buy a template and modify all the text?

Why dont you design landing pages, you can probably build a few of those per day depending on your skills since they are one page websites
