I am 17, how should I set up my adsense account?

Is there a way to register an adsense account in my mother's name, but have the checks made out to myself? If not, what should I do, just have google send a check to my mother every month and have her cash it and put the money into my account? Whats the best way to set up an account if you are under 18?

or instead of getting the checks sent to your mom, hold all payments til a few days before ur 18th birthday and get a big fat check as a gift, in your name!

You can hold payments? Thats awesome then. Im gonna hold all my payments until Im 18 and cash a big fat google check. Then I can post the pic on this forums and you will all bow down because you think its my monthly check.

lol I remember when I first did that! I put it in my mom's name and she was like "Ang, did you enter me in a contest online or something?" I'm like "No mom, that's mine" lol :)

No you can be under 18 and still have Google Adsense. I read it. (I am 17 also).
It just has to be in someone who is 18's name that can claim responsibility.

Ok so I have a question. My Google Adsense account is in my mother's name, but do I need to put her social security number in or mine (currently it's mine)? And will she or I have to pay taxes? I filled out a W-9 form and I put exempt from backup witholding..but I'm not sure if I will still pay taxes. I don't think I should because I won't go over the $600 mark. But if so, when will I pay taxes if I don't go over the $600 mark or the 1099 whatever XD? Does Google take the taxes out before I get the check?

Edit: Btw: I live in the USA, I don't work (have never worked), I don't have bank account info, I have a forum and a website I'm using for google adsense, I currently have $30 or so in my adsense account, and I plan to take it out when I reach $130, and I've never paid taxes or got an accountant for that matter XD. Yeah, I'm in a pickle XD. What's the best advice for me? I don't want the IRS coming around knocking on my door...my mom would be so pissed..XD

    Yes.

    From Google AdSense:

    Payment Holding

By selecting the Hold Payment checkbox below, you are requesting that we hold your payments until further notice. Your earnings will continue to accrue during this time, and you may remove the hold on your payments at any time by deselecting the Hold Payment box. Once the box is deselected, you will be paid in the next payment cycle, according to the Google AdSense Terms and Conditions.

Changes made to these settings after the 15th of the month may apply to either the current or next payment cycle.
