hi, I just wanna show you how easy it is to get on top of the search engines.. well at least on google... and I mean not only on the first page but the ultimate dream of any internet business.. to rank #1 on the google search engine... here's a screenshot taken today, 13th november 2007: I started a thread here on the Digital Point Forums just 9 days ago, giving away a free ebook... and I almost can't believe that I am already #1 with that keywords.. and aslo found out that by searching with the keywords 'free ebook how I made' also ranks my post #4 on the first search results page.. as you can see on the screenshot, the second result is also kind of my ebook (I included a rebranding software and somebody already post it on ebay) but the third is my post on bigmoneyforum.com so i guest it was easy... now i can relax and wait for that awesome free natural organic traffic to kick in
Congratulations On your Google Success.... However, the downside is that that search term probably isn't getting much traffic; as a matter of fact, probably none at all.. I don't want to bring you down, but I could easily rank position number 1 if I were to choose a phrase like "My Free Ebook: I Like To Make Tons Of Money All The Time In My Pajamas" Getting to position #1 on Google is great, don't get me wrong, but if there is no search engine traffic for the selected term, how can you profit? As for the title of the ebook "How I Made $2734 In 7 Days", no one is going to type that in unless they already know about the E-book and are searching for a review for it. I could be way off base here, but I really don't think I am. On a side note though, you did get number 1 simply by making a forum post, so congratz on that. Sean.
You can say that being number 1 in google is okay if you are using competitive keyword... and that is not a competitive keyword..
Agree with all the above, nobody will search for that therefore pointless, plus its not you who ranks number one its digitalpoint & ebay. I have a forum site which ranks number 1 for about twenty thousands search terms from forum posts in google and the traffic on that site isn't much to shout about to be honest.
you are right and thanks for your reply.. ofcourse I'm not expecting millions of ppl searching that keyword... but I this is't a start... as I sad before, I rank #4 on 'free ebook how i made' and there are 12.500.000 searches on that keyword.. that is something.. don't you think?.. i mean go ahead.. take a look.. click here thanks for your help and advice

this is just silly - pick any thread title at random from digitalpoint and you'll find a similar result.
You are not expecting millions and you should not since not even 10 people will search that in a lifetime. but it is a good start for you to understand SEO. Try reading things on keyword research
No, there are 12.5mil results for it because it's so broad, which is why no one will ever search it anyway. # of results != amount of people that search it. You also feature nowhere for "free ebook how i made money", and nowhere for either "free ebook how to make" or "free ebook how to make money", which is bad since no one will search for "how I made" when they're interested in how TO make... Interesting.
Don't get too excited. I started a new forum, search google for 'my forum home' and it was number one in about 24 hours, it's also meaningless as no-one will search for that.
