I’m a beginner, need some help!

I wish to start making money online. Just enough to pay a few bills etc. Is this asking too much? At present I am unsure which area to go into. Affiliate marketing looks possible. But there are so many e-books/courses I do not know here to start.
Therefore, I have decided to ask for advice from other members. What are the pitfalls or the chances of being sold a dud product or course. Can you recommend any products?
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

After this, you'll probabyl go for an affiliate program or sell your own product. Try to stay focused on a particular niche you 're really interested in. Also, for beginning, try to find not to competitive markets.

If you're going to go for the affiliate marketing option to begin with, the best thing that you can do is build a list. Give something of value away for free and start regular communication with your list.
Start recommending products to your list, but make sure you try and remain as independent as possible with your product review and have tried the product personally first.
The best autoresponder / newsletter tool is generally considered to be www.Aweber.com

Absolutely not. Many people start out making money on the internet just to make a few extra bucks on the side, not to make a full time income. Myself included.

Yeah, that's one of the challenges of starting to make money online, it's that you have to take the time to do the research to find what is legit, what works and what's right for you.

I must admit I wouldn't expect this kind of question in the search engine optimization forum, as this seems to be geared toward people who have their own site/business and want to be seen on the top rankings of the major search engines. But that's okay.

Anyway I'll give you a book I read which taught about the background of how money is made on the internet. Normally I only give this to people who subscribe to my mailing list, but for you I'll make an exception.

Now to answer your last question, the pitfalls of being sold a product or course are simple: they won't work and you'll have wasted your time and money. Worse, you may believe that all products/courses/etc. are scams and you'll shun making money online out of your head. As for the chances, I suppose you can minimize the chances of being sold a dud by doing your research and seeing what people are saying about said product.

    Good luck!

you already got some great advice...Try to go into an area that you at least have an interest in...this will make the daily grind of updating your site less of a drag....No matter where you decide to start, success might not come right away so don't get discouraged

Make a good site with good seo. Then find good cpc programs and use them on your site. That would be enough to earn you decent money.

Depends how big your bills are and how much of a hurry you are in.:)

You will find hundreds of products on affiliate marketing alone. There are plenty of rehashed e-books and courses waiting to be bought. Yes, I admit, I have wasted a lot of time and money searching for stuff myself. I came across a good site that will definitely help. It’s an Internet marketing review site http://www.ratingshub.com/invite/londonlad.html It's a free website that gives you (as they say on their page) “evaluations and user ratings on 100's of Internet Marketing products and services without ads, links or promos”. I‘ve seen the reviews users give and they are pretty helpful. If you’re in doubt about a product this site just might sway you one way or another. Ps the link is a sign up page to the site. The guy has his affiliate link in it, but the site is not selling anything. All the best.

We started with ebay to make some "seed money". That was the beginning and we invested it in our own websites.

As you already read, affiliate sites need to build a good list to get enough traffic to make sales.

If you can write your own ebook, you will still need a list, but have others selling your book for you. I wrote 2 ebooks last year and put them on clickbank. They have tons of backward links because I have so many affiliates selling my ebooks.
