"The biggest story so far is Kanye West's comments during last Friday's A Concert for Hurricane Relief telethon, where he ignored the teleprompter and went off on a confusing rant about being a hypocrite, ending the segment saying, "George Bush doesn't care about black people." While hilarious in its own right, the combination of Mike Meyers' reaction along with NBC's desperate cutaway to Chris Tucker zoning out make it the feel good film of the year. Anways, both the American Red Cross and NBC have released statements trying to distance themselves from Kanye, which is a smart move because that brother is all sorts of crazy." link to video of Kanye's rant
Western society has long had a problem confusing entertainers with intelligent thinkers. Look at Tom Cruise and his recent rants about depression as an example. He's an actor. Actors should act and when not on the set making a movie should just shut the hell up. I didn't even know who the hell Kanye was until tonight but let's face it -- he was at the telethon because he was an entertainer, not because he was a rocket scientist. Geeze, he's not even a real entertainer -- he's a freaking hip-hop "artist", just one notch above a toaster and slightly below TV commercial jingle composers.
