I talked to my sister about an hour ago and she told me that one of her friends that lives in the New Orleans area evacuated yesterday to Houston. Her friend said that it was very slow going because of all the traffic, but they did make it safe and sound. I sure hope we are not witnessing another Hurricane Katrina situation.
Evacuations went very smoothly actually. Aside from the traffic, everyone that wanted to leave...left. We are already losing power in areas though because of the falling trees. On the news they said they dispatched a team to fix the outages, but to me it seems like a waste of man power. It's very likely that they will just get torn down again, but I guess it would save them some work.
Stay safe there everyone...we'll be praying for your safety as well. Hope this wont be another Katrina tragedy *knock on wood*
Stay safe for everyone on Gustav's path. It seems New orleans has been evacuated and anybody staying would be arrested. Hope Gustave changes into category 1.
Its such bad news, and I just count my blessing that I don't live in a place with such bad weather, hope that it is all ok in the end. Stay safe all
