For two years I couldn't get google images to pick up more then 3 of my graphics...today I noticed Google (Images) in my AWStats referrals and did the site: command in images. They've got 951 of them...this is so cool...hardly any of them have title or alt tags but I'm working on that, I wonder what the deal is? Did my site suddenly cross some importance threshold...suddenly i deserved to be in the images listings?
Congrats... I hope more of mine get picked up too. Seems there are still some "secrets" to figure out as far as optimizing to get into Google Images.
You may now seen an onslaught of GoogleImage bots from all around the world now ... even better! I don't honestly do well in Google SERP, but Google Images is one of the largest referrals to my female celebrities website - love it!
this month ive had more hits fromm google images then msn, yahoo and google together, maybe they updated there image index recently?
I just checked, I'm certainly not feeling the love yet. I thought sitemaps would help since the image URL's are buried in php.
i've been getting alot of referalls from Google images recently so i take it its a good thing. I was wondering if it just meant that someone was just viewing the picture and not the webpage it is on but i guess they are actually viewing the page they found it on
