Has anyone ever shot a 28 gauge shotgun before? It's pretty darn small. I know that lead can do very strange things once it enters someone's body, but how did it get into his heart? Did it enter an artery, and actually inch it's way through his body to his heart?

Or did the initial shot penetrate his breastbone/ribs/muscle? I don't think that's possible with birdshot from a 28 gauge at 30 yards.

    1. He's 78 - soft bones and tissue.

    2. He's a retired lawyer, allegedly.

    3. He's faking it.

Why did they take almost a full day to disclose this? Need time to sober up before they let the officials talk to cheney?

Just seems strange that he didnt tell even the white house till the next day.

Yeah. Any reasonable person would have called the White House and the press and his own lawyer long before bothering with the trivial issue of getting him medical care

He isn't a normal person though. And taking a day to even let the officials talk to you after you shot someone is strange.

    "DUIs"? "Dirty Underwear Incidents"?

    You Americans talk funny...

Is it? How many times have you been in that position and how long did you take? How many people have you shot?

Who knows, he coulda actually just had 1 beer with lunch, or he could have been sippin da hooch out of a hip flask during the hunt. I wonder if authorities would have given a blood-alcohol test to a regular citizen.

By the way, I just found out that Cheney's only 65. I thought he was 80 or so, dunno why.

That article is pretty funny, sharp!

    Ya think!?

Everyone knows that "one beer" really means 3-5 beers and a few shots. :p

Not quite as sauced as old Teddy was when he murdered a young girl ;)

Of course Cheney was what 21 and 22 at the time of both arrests... I consider myself lucky I never got caught at the age, because I'm pretty sure there were times I was "driving under the influence", but not drunk!

I had a different picture in my mind of Cheney playing frat boy games with this buddy, firing off shots at his feet yelling "dance for me bitch", then accidentally hitting him in the face and chest...

Do you know how hard it was to get DUI's back then?!

Yeah, I guess that makes it all OK for Cheney. There's a precedent set.

About as hard is it was to get a conviction for murder/manslaughter. Even after waiting 3 days while the corpse rotted before telling anyone.

Well if the mandate holds true, Cheney will never be able to run for President. That's the deal Teddy made to stay out of jail anyway....

Me thinks Cheney should stick to golf like Ford. At least when you nail someone with a golf ball they usually do not end up lodged in heart ;)

Nobody got shot, they wasn't even out hunting. This fake story is created as a smoke screen for something they don't want the press to know.

If only Cheney had put down the bottle after his DUI's like George did.

Isn't that what made Bush choose sobriety?
