Hi yall ... i have a question that is here for a while... so now i remember to as you guys. Maybe some of you might help me and some others that may have the same question. So here it goes. In some forums, blogs i found guys saying and using the following search terms to view if there were too many results in google for thei niche. Confuses? Ill show u what im talking about: allinanchor 681 results in Google inurl 301 results in Google allintitle 687 Google results and they search like this: allintitle:"something" Can someone pleaase tell me that this is for .. cause i really dont get it. Cause whe some "regular" user uses it. It searcher normally withouth these things. So having your webiste on the top of those lists (i guess) is not the same thing as being ranked first for "regular" searches. Thanks!
These are special syntaxes google support, they are not used by regular users. A good reference is [faculty.valencia.cc.fl.us/infolit/Google/help.htm] or google hacks book by O'Reilly. sorry about the text link, can't post live link yet
The reason webmaster search for allintitle is to see how many sites there are with the keyword text in the page title / site title. Chances are that if the site/page has it in the title, that specific site is about the keyword. With just the plain normal search you'll get millions of pages containing the keyword, but are not necessarily about that keyword.
