I raise my children with little-to no parental influence. So it must be the same with robots, let them develop on their own through observation. Daytime TV is teaching my kids all they need to know in life.

The only hint is that such machine must be built by humans i the first place(or robots that built it). The programmers may secretly build in a function that makes the robots to be his(the programmer) slaves the 22 November 2062(or something like that).

lorien1973, why are you poking fun at latehorn? The response he gave to my posts made perfect sense. Are you so shortsighted that you can't visualize the future?

You may make fun of latehorn now, but people who are generally ahead of their time have always been ridiculed by others........

Funny thing is, Ray Kurzweil, Kevin Warwick, Hans Moravec, and Michio Kaku, some of the smartest minds on this planet, and have pondered the very same questions that latehorn is talking about. Making fun of him is stupid.

Anyway, latehorn you're right. I failed to consider the fact that the programmers could write codes which would allow them to control the machines, and thus become gods themselves.

Then there is the "Matrix" or "Skynet" scenario where the machine somehow decides the best way to protect humans is by enslaving them or even destroying them.

Once something becomes sentient, there is no telling what it will do..............if it pulls a Hal 2001, we're all screwed.

But then again, robots ruling over may not be any worse than what we've got to deal with right now.

    Thanks for the back-up, tesla!

Another possibillity is that humans becomes pets for robot-familys or used as cattle. Robots might go to the human store when they want to buy cheap workforce.
