According to law enforcement agencies in Ohio, human trafficking is alive and growing. Two major cities in Ohio are becoming well known for this. The two major cities may surprise you. This information is being presented to all for awareness only

And the two major cities are: Columbus and Toledo

The Ohio Department of Health indicates both cities have characteristics that make them susceptible to human trafficking.

Media attention has fueled U.S. policy makers' concerns with human trafficking. There is now for the record a law called (TVPA ) Trafficking Victims Protection Act. Human trafficking is now a growing global concern.

Sadly that doesn't surprise me at all. It's certainly alive and well here in Europe and I'd be surprised if the US, or any country for that matter, was any different.

It depends....if a woman is kidnapped or forced into it, it is. If she does it willingly to make money it isn't.

Well most of them are forced, first they are shown various opportunities and secondly after they reach the destination they are forced to do it. I am very sad because of Nepalese Girls and Womans being trafficked to india even girls below 10 years are sold, some by their relatives some by their own family :( Main cause would be because of Poverty and Uneducation. Most of the girls trafficked from Nepal are people living in rural and undeveloped area.

They are living a very horrible life in the brothels of Bombay.

Wow, I had no idea that human trafficking was so prevalent in the US. Especially not in Ohio of all places. I was aware that lots of Eastern European and ex-Soviet break away countries had high rates of human trafficking, and of course lots of South America and Centeral America human trafficking goes on when people try to sneak themselves, or their families into the US. But seeing those numbers in Ohio, and all those young girls getting scammed or forced into this situation is just disturbing.

Yes it does exist. I thankfully do not live in either of those two cities, however mine isn't known for it, but it does happen sometimes.

According to our federal government it's defined as " sex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion. Also, the recruitment of a person for labor or services through use of force, etc. for the purpose of subjecting them to involuntary servitude, bondage or slavery.

It is quite disturbing, considering most of these victims are young runaways, castaways but alot of these victims are lured away from their own homes with false promises and some are even kidnapped.
