I've moved up about 30 spots still not near top 10 but it's a very competitive word and a new site but it's always good to see some progress. I did notice that my page count on yahoo tripled did anyone else experience a jump in the number of their pages indexed?
This forum is so quick, there are masses of posts on this already. Yahoo was being a pain with my site, now I like yahoo, lol. This is a big update, and after not receiving any traffic from them for ages, I have received quite a bit already just after the update. MSN and Yahoo are sorted, now what about google, when are they going to get their act together?????
I'm up right now on Yahoo ... #2 for main key word .... #1 spot is held by someone that used a list of links, including MINE, to get to top but does not have one product in the key word brand. I thought the search engines caught things like this. But I bounce around a lot in Yahoo. I was sitting at #4 and suddenly dropped to something like #17 for a few days.
Most of my sites are not up in the 10 of Yahoo but, lately they are indexing the backlinks to my sites very quickly. I can hope that the improved positions will also be reflected just as quickly.
have also noticed another major jump for one of my keywords, jumped to 4th from no where. going from nowhere 2 4th of about 10,300,000 for ************* - 0.20 sec is pretty good
Doing well with position 3 of 81,600,000 results. That may explain the upturn in my adsense revenue this week.
It looks like this new Yahoo index places a greater emphasis on backlinks. We have one new site that had good, on page and only 20 or 25 backlinks and the site ranked 15-20 in the SERP's for its primary KW's. Since the index change the SERP's dropped to 50-90. Looks like we need to speed up our BL program on this site.
I think you are right on. I was really surprised because some of my listings that were buried and now are on the first page! I just hope it lasts...
Seems to be more emphasis on domain name, I have a green-whatsits-widgets.com that is now #2 out of 600 000 for green whatsits - searched about 20 000 times a month according to Overture, despite the fact it has only about 5 external links. #3 out of 6 million for green widgets, overture numbers 4500 a month. Seems to be a good idea to build small focused sites, with keyword domains, but nothing new in that.
Yep, IBLs seem to be given more weight as I mentioned earlier. More sites that appear in Google are now showing well in Yahoo. Shame there's still not much traffic to be had in comparison to Google!
