Hi mate, Im interested but could you let me know which domain name has historically held this site? is it the .com, .co.uk etc.?

Im interested in most community sites and this one suits me perfectly, being based in the UK.

Need to do full research so please let me know asap,

.net domain was the primary I then switched it to the .co.uk a while ago and forwarded all the other domains to it. All the merchandise I had made up was printed using the .net domain..

Heres a photo of the pens \ stickers I had made up:

I had t-shirts, cups and keyrings made also but can't find any to photo as I handed them out at meets etc. I still have a box full of 100's of pens and stickers.

Im guessing as the last user has been banned his bid is void?

    I will bid $800

I can also bring a lot of experiance to the site as I already run a similar one with over 4000 members

Yes ignore the bid from Typo3 Steve.

Your currently the highest bidder, I have also replied to your PM. It would be nice to sell to someone who will want to grow it further, I am quite suprised with the traffic this site gets and if I didn't need the cash I certainly wouldn't sell this gem.

I will leave it on here until Monday, if I don't get the price I'm happy with I will be putting the site up for auction on sitepoint, thanks.

I have a few people interested but may take it to sitepoint to achieve a higher price, I've been offered $$$ for the domains alone. My reserve in mind is $1.4K.

The software is community server version 2.1, it was the free version I started with and has been ever since.

    Hi mate,

thanks for giving me time to take a look at it, I like the site but Im put off principally by the platform and my lack of time to learn a new one... if it were on vBulletin I might be tempted, but I have to make way for your current $1k bid.

    cheers

No problem, I was going to change the platform some time ago but I have used Community Server from the start - it has some very good features when you learn your way around it.

I will end the auction on here tonight at 10pm (UK time), with a view to putting the site up on Sitepoint which will hopefully get me my reserve. I may even keep it, redesign it and get Adsense up there as I was suprised with the traffic stats..thanks.

There's only 235 registered users? Where is your traffic coming from primarily?
Have you paid for links and/or traffic in the past?

I may be interested depending on the answers to the above questions..
Also, would you be willing to transfer the site to the .com?

just a note to the previous poster EGS

    - think hard before changing to the .com, you will lose all residual SEO and SERP rankings..... not worth it :)

I have provided traffic stats \ ref stats for the last two years and from looking at it most of the traffic seems to be returning visitors and search engine traffic. The members on there are all very loyal to the site and have stuck with it since the start.

I can help the buyer in anyway I can..as far as transferring the site to the .com I agree with MOGs comments although I can change the images, header etc to the .com for you.

No I have not paid for traffic or links in the past, this is a solid, genuine established site (as with all sites I sell) that has continued to grow without my input..when I made the sale post it was the first time I had seen the traffic stats for months so I was very suprised.

With weblog expert I can generate a full 2 year report of traffic and export to PDF \ CSV which will answer all your traffic questions.

    Thanks,

Very much my view as well

$800 would be the highest I could bid for a pr2 site with only 200ish members and a platform that I have no experiance with.

    Good luck with the sale:D

No problem unome, $800 is way too low for a genuine 4 year old site that averages 60K visits per month, the price is not based on PR or amount of members (I didn't even check the PR).

    Thank you for your interest.
