Huge Number of Page Impressions Today

    It's definitely an error on google's side. My page impressions nearly doubled according to adsense yesterday. I have proof of how this could not have happened.

    1) My traffic according to google analytics was within 2-3% of the standard yesterday, the same as the last two weeks. My traffic has stayed constant, AND the pages visited per visitor stayed constant yesterday. This does not add up properly.

    2) THIS IS THE BIG FACT - I have an ad group that shows up on EVERY page. Every day adsense shows the same number of impressions with that group and with my whole account (I only have one website). Yesterday my daily impressions were 60% higher than the number of times that ad group was shown. So far today the trend is continuing.

    Either google has changed the way they record impressions (which I would not like), or there is a glitch or some testing going on. Either way I don't like it, and I am also a bit worried about my very low ctr yesterday and continuing on today (adjusting the figures to match the previous days).

    I have huge number of page impressions today. Yesterday it was normal, but today something is definitely wrong at their end. 4x/5x more page impressions, even the total of ad unit impressions is less than that number they show for page impressions.

    Weird... My situation seems to be quite different. My Adsense channell impressions are extremely low! Ctr is up... Something is defenetely wrong!

    im getting a lot of impressions today (more then usual) but no clicks today, dont understand why, i always get them, maybe just a bad day.

    Weird things are happening with regard to number of page impressions as checked in the adsense report. While the cpanel stats remained within the normal range, the number of impressions displayed by the adsense report nearly doubled and this happened for yesterday and today. It is without doubt, a glitch in the google reporting...

    One of my sites has 3x more impressions now. The earnings are the same.

    But second site has the same impression as obviously...

    Nothing new on Inside Adsense blog...

    We must to wait what´s happend...

    Not sure if it's Google. Impressions way up since yesterday, but I also found a nasty little bot spamming my sites.

    Yesterday, the impressions in the channel detail did not match the overall Google report, but today they do.

    Yeah, something is going on. For me, it started on Monday.
    I got my highest number of impressions EVER, according to my AW stats.
    Tuesday was even higher. Wednesday was about like Monday.
    Although I don't think much of Alexa, they are reporting the best numbers I have ever seen - super high.

    As far as AdSense, it showed the highest impressions too. So, it seemed in line with my AW stats. So, I am guessing that it is not a Google problem in my case, although CTR and eCPM have dropped.

    Thanks for the robot tip. I checked my robot stats, and they looked pretty normal, with Yahoo Slurping up all the bandwidth, as usual. I carefully checked page views for each page, and I couldn't find anything abnormal.

    I will be spending the rest of the day trying to solve this mystery.
    Where are these "mystery impressions" coming from?
    I will certainly be watching this thread all day.

    Also, there is a lot of talk over at that "other forum". Going to check it now.

    My impressions doubled. 230,000 yesterday but earnings were normal. CTR and CPM were god awful because of the huge impressions. Other tracking programs show normal Page Impressions so this is definitely a Google Glitch.
