Huge jump in serps for 2 yr old site

dropping in out of google been having the same problem for a 2yr old website, stay on first page out of 200 million for my keywords for a few days then fall back to around 500. this has happened 3 or 4 times. mostly for high competive keywords. I thought it was because of tla ads, so i took them off but then it happened again. Then I thought it was other sites listed on my same ip took them off too. But it still has been happening. Why first page then drop to around 500 mark, its for a adult dating website. Havent found to many people on here with these kind of fluctutions. Why first page then drop me to 500, doesnt make sense, after 3 -4 times. Its been on all dcs these fluctutions.

 

Are you also fluctuating for not competative keyword?

Dont forget, other sites are also doing SEO, and if there are 200 mil' for your keywords, so im sure that the top 10 sites are older then yours, have a better link popularity etc.

You gotta keep working on your link building all the time...

Sounds to me like over optimization, is it typically just the one phrase that falls off? If it is just one phrase that it is typically happening to, then I believe your over optimizing.

3 times you go up and then down shows some symbol of bit over seo. Can you show me your site?

the only thing different i did was sign up with tnx and got a few one way links 100

 

You probably got hit with the 500 penalty by google.

 

something is not right here for sure.

There's no way you could've dropped that far so quickly.

My guess is you may have lost a major link outside of your site that was allowing you to be there.

 

the only thing ive done in awhile as far as link building was 100 one way links on tnx, and a few mod rewrites for some pages. But a huge drop like this is not right.

 

Do you have more than 1 domain registered for this site??

I had a clients site that had similar problems and it turned out to be duplicate content problems. Once I sorted it, rankings stablized.

Otherwise it will be what GrAveTzT is saying. You must of lost a link that had alot of power/trust/authority associated with it...

 

This may be related to all the changes Google is doing. I seen posts like this from different people in forums. Hopefully Google can soon be able to finish what they are doing, and everybody would be in peace.

 

Scary story.
