Huge jump in CTR from under 1% to ~30% consistently for 3 months now

Yes, my CTR on one of the sites i forgot about for a while, i am seeing huge jump in CTR for the last 2-3 months. I don't know why and what caused this huge jump.
I didn't change anything on the website and the clicks donot belong to any channel i created (may be i deleted those channels from my adsense, but the code still exists on site).

When i first saw this in January, i for sure thought i will be banned. I was thinking that someone may be attacking my site with automatic clicking with the help of software. I wanted to report to google, but i waited to see if i will receive any warning from google. I was 100% confident on myside as i was doing nothing wrong.
Surprise, surprise, I didn't receive any communication from google and i am even getting paid for these clicks.

My site does cool things, it helps people manage their events, but CTR of ~30% is first time in 3 years of operation.

More than 10 clicks per day was too much to ask, but iam now seeing clicks around 70-350 clicks per day with average pay rate of 1-3 cents.

Are you guys also seeing this pattern?

The reason i am bringing this to your attention is the recent report of google loosing revenue from adsense clicks (as fewer and fewer people clicking on advrts).

Is someone or group of (google ) shareholders trying to artificially inflate number of clicks on adsense sites thus helping google and google stock?
Just a thought in one corner of my mind.

If I were you I would put google analytics or some sort of stat tracker on your site so you can monitor the traffic you are getting to make sure that it adds up to the amount of impressions and clicks you're getting with adsense.

I average about 1000 impressions per day and this didnot jump with jump in CTR.

    I am not blaming google.

It could be handiwork of some google shareholder who may indulge in improve the decreasing click rate on google adsense sites. If people don't click on google advrts, then google will loose their bread and butter and thus affect its stock price.

Perhaps they should rethink their banning policy without warning...

They have lost some good publishers as well. Plus many are moving
    on from Adsense hence...

Have you looked at the Adsense ads being displayed on that site? It's possible that the ads are more relevant now than before, possibly as a result of new Adwords advertisers coming on board. It's for sure that the ads are the kind that are of interest to the visitors to that site.

It's also possible that there's an external link or two to your site that help bring the right kind of visitors to your site -- the kind that are interested in the ads being displayed.

I will research and update on this. My site doesn't attract any stray online surfers though. They come for specific purpose and get their job done and leave. I will see if this trend continues and meanwhile investigate how CTR has improved dramatically high.
I was expecting to see if any other DP memeber is witnessing the same.
    Thanks

it will not really work. even if there is a syndicate of sharehoslers who decide to increase google revenue by clicking ads, those will be clicks that will not generate any revenue for adwords advertisers who at the end pay for the clicks. the syndicate have to click on millions of ads to make few million extra for google which will not make any impact on google stock. if somehow the syndicate clicks enough to jack up the revenue, adwords advertisers wil line up to leave the program as their advertising money is going right down to the drain. so at the end, google will loose more money because they pay adsense publishers less than what they get from the adwords advertisers

In the last one week, I saw my CTR too started rising from an average of 5% to 25% although that did not transform into a huge increase in the adsense revenue, though a marginal increase was there. I am wondering what could be the reason? :)

My daily revenue jumped from under $1 to upto $5.
Even though per click revenue dropped to 1-3 cents, due to large number of clicks, iam still making more money.
I already have 53 clicks for today (7 hours) and $1.53 in revenue and this is something unusual for weekend on my site.

Just saw this thread. I am having a similar case since January. The thing I noticed about these clicks are:

    (i) They have NO channel associated with them
    (ii) They give no revenue
(iii) These clicks tend to happen every 3-5 days

I have contacted the adsense team via email but have got no response as yet.
