Hi all, On 7 july 2007 my Alexa rank was: 213,329 And now on 12 July 2007 my Alexa rank is: 187,095 I guess its a lot improvement from my point of view in 5 days!
Good to see that some people can make improvements on their Alexa ranking. My main site (about motorsports) is in the millions somewhere and since no webmasters with the toolbar installed visits it I'm not going anywhere. My crappy web directory on the other hand.... Example: Motorsport site Alexa Ranking: 1,188,010 Appr. daily uniques: 3,200 Web directory Alexa Ranking: 254,697 Appr. daily uniques: 250 So, in effect the site with 13 times more visitors is ranked about 930,000 places down on the one a couple of webmasters visit now and then.
I agree with the above. I would count on Alexa ranking. You can ask some of your friends to install Alexa toolbar and visit your website once a day. You will see a dramatic improvement in your ranking,
You can do better than 400,000 by installing the Alexa toolbar on your PC and visiting your site twice or thrice daily. You should see it near 100,000 in a week or 2
I thought alexa actually based their data off of more realistic stats, but It seems that they do not. I guess I will stop caring about that ranking.
