Hi all 2 Months ago I've opened my own site. I have already hits from all over the world without any marketing work. That's because my idea is very simple and the name of my page too. I started a page where people can send my cash for my picture which I painted and that's all. After a lot of friends sent my cash a lot of other people started to support me. My only service (and this is my marketing trick) is to put in an entry into a table of giver's which is sorted descending.. that's all. I earned already over 600 US$ in 2 months and it's still growing! People all over the world like my idea and compare it with the http://www.milliondollarhomepage.com site! Now I want to make this unique idea popular! So I started to write to communities and tell all my friends and tried to get listed by google. Are there any other ways to boost my hits without paying thousands of dollars? Thx for help! Regards Chris

Nice self promotion and spam. Anyways, a heavy PR campaign (prweb, digg, del.icio.us buttons, etc) would surely help.

PRweb is not better than manually submitting to newspapers. It's just a quick option. It's fine if you're primarily interested in bloggers, or willing to pay enough for top placements to try to reach larger online media outlets who actually use them. If you have a regional appeal, send it directly to newspapers like you planned to, and send it off to the regional bureau of AP (www.ap.org). PRweb is a fine tool for what it is, but don't mistake it as a substitute for building media relationships and directly targeting journalists.
