agreed to most, it depends on your web content..but for some better perspective, just visit the G-trends..it can show you some preview "why" your visitors less than yesterday.. CMIIW..
Did anyone else encountered this problem? Starting friday, one of my friend's site had 80% less users from Google search engine and SERPS also gone low or dissapear.
Yeah drops happen from time to time for various reasons. If you kept the position in Google don't worry about it.
This happened to me friday too...most of my serp disappear...I only see a couple of serp and it got knocked down in serp.
Yeah I guess it's really depend on your niche... not much difference on my blog site over the weekend.
Something is funky at google. I think it relates to their indexing issues. 25% of my pages are missing in the G index since Friday and at the same time my SERPs dropped about 80%. Pretty sure the two are related. Tons of people are reporting this.
Reason I would assume by the links in your signature. Gaming websites would more be niched towards kids, and kids these days have no life and play on computers all weekend Not like the old days when we all went to the park to play some basketball when were kids. All depends what your site is geared towards. My proxy list site, I have more traffic during the week, as most are at work. Weekend tapers off a little.
I believe it all depends on your niche - if its business/computer related then I can see a decrease in views on the weekend - most people will check out sites during work while sitting at a computer but not while at home on the weekend.. however if your niche is entertainment, such as stupid or funny videos, etc then it would make sense that you would get MORE views on the weekend - since alot of people dont go onto those sites while they are at work -
Y'all are acting like the guy has his site for just 6 days. Don't you think if he says traffic down he has already factored in what obtains on weekends? Anyways, on my site, I had a 50% drop off on my normal weekend traffic and it has continued on today.
In our case the drop on Google Search Traffic still continue after this first weekend and I don't mean a 5-10% drop which is sometime normal. We are talking about an 80% drop in Google Search Traffic.(SERPS also gone very low) Also an interesting thing is that recent posts are not indexed in Google anymore and in the past this was a regular thing that ocurred after few seconds a blog post was written. Do you think this may be penalty action from Google? Any ideas or similar experiences like this in the past? Thanks!
My google analytics graph of visits, on weekly bases, looks like an osculating wave function. Increases during week, and goes down on weekends. Something like this:
