I've noticed a HUGE drop in visitors today on my sites.. is it because of Halloween weekend?

    Anyone else noticed this?

Nope, I *always* get about a 70-80% traffic drop on weekends. This one is no different.

me too. I guess it just depends on what people feel like searching for while they're at work and while they're at home.

Yeah, the traffic flow depends on the kind of site you have. Weekends drop off for me, too. Mine are mostly informational sites as opposed to shopping sites. I'm guessing that people at work goof off by surfing for information on stuff they're interested in, whereas people planning to shop online wait till the weekend so they can really dig in and do research, comparisons, etc. Just my unproven theory.

It depends on so many factors, Halloween being only one ;-) Some websites do better during work hours, others do better outside of work hours. All depends on who your typical visitor is, SY

Usually my traffic drops at weekends but this is the lowest in a long time, even lower than Christmas day.

Looks like people have better things to do than surf the internet all day, although I can't imagine what:rolleyes:

Depends mainly on the niche you are promoting, weekends and holidays are the main reasons for traffic drop.

    Happy Halloween! :)

What is the general area of interest for your site? Some sites do better on the weekends, while others do better during the week.

For example, my tech-related site, geared mainly to System Engineers and Administrators does *much* better during the week. I chalk it up to noobs at work googling for the answer to their problems.

Weekend traffic is in the crapper, because the geeks are relaxing at home with a pint, and not trying to fix problems at work.
