Huge Drop In Number On Backlinks, BUG???

    Hello,

    Yesterday when i checked there were 170,678 backlinks showing up on webmaster tools for my site GizmoCrazed, but today i have checked they are reduced to mere 5000 odd.
    Is it a bug or what? My traffic is the same no drop in that

    HELP!!

    google webmaster tools usually does not show right numbers, ever.
    i would rather use Yahoo site explorer for this.

    that one is usually normal.. i suggest to regularly check your live backlinks using the link query command and compare it to webmaster tool..

    I have the same issue and I am sure this is not normal. I am thinking google is trying to be tricky and saving up some space for Microsoft is buying everything.

    I had a forum that had my text link for over 150,000 pages and that forum is now "GONE" in my backlink!
