Hey guys, just wanted to make a post maybe it'll help someone either through trying similar ideas or through inspiration. A few days ago I added a new section to my website, I wrote a simple content management system and along with it I tested the adsense link bar and from the looks of things I'm getting a lot of clicks through it. I think I have pretty good placement with it.

I know I can't discuss true stats but lets just say I've gotten about %800 more clicks. The site URL is in my signature. The new page with the new adsense link bar is located at http://www.bestofgnr.com/news/article/17 maybe it will help you with add placement, its currently working extremely well for me so I thought I'd share.

Don't get the idea that I'm making tons of cash all the sudden, but I think I just took a big step. Good luck with your adsense everyone and take care.

It's proven great idea of placing link units in that way.

    Interesting!

Since I moved an Ad Unit to the top of my site rather than at the bottom I seem to be getting a great deal more clicks. In fact in four days I've made over 50% of my total earnings when compared to the whole of March.

It should even look better if the width of your "Past News Articles" and "Guns N Roses Info" menu is exactly the same as the G adsense box

More people say they get better results when the link unit is across the page rather than in the traditional nav space. However, your adlink looks great. I am not surprised you get a lot of clicks because it looks like navigation.

You did exactly what the "heat map" (https://www.google.com/support/adsense/bin/static.py?page=tips.html) suggested so it's no surprise your CTR is great (placing the ads towards the upper left corner and left sidebar area).

I've always said, considering the "heat map" is the best thing any PPC Publisher can do to maximize earnings.

that position don't make you have less pageviews because of people leaving your page going somewhere else with the ad links?? is it worth?

I think the real key is the placement and making the google ads look like (UI wise) other parts of your site. Good work.
